Portal review: By Smiles
Hi My name is Smiles from GameOn.co.uk
This is my Review for Portal for the PC
Portal is a puzzle-full game, at start, you get to learn all basic stuff and set
all the controls ready for the proper test. Also at the beginning, a 'portal'
opens to let you out the room with no doors, and also, it's in a position were
you can see who you are and what you look like.
A portal is something that is controlled by the Portal device, with the Portal
device, the impossible, is easy!
You 1st get the Portal Device in Test chamber3, to be honest all you have to do
in it is get the Portal gun, and shot an entrance, walk threw it, and walk on to
Test chamber4
The Portal Device looks like the Gravity gun of Half-life2 and also, can pick
things up, but can't throw it, it doesn't harm anyone, but can harm you (can't
really do this in the game)
- Don't point the Device at your face,
- don't place your hand on the front of the Device,
- most important, don't drop the Device in the fire or water.
One of the move's you are Teached is a 'Flinj', it's when you put a Portal on the ground (a long way down), a portal above you (if you can), jump threw the Entrance (or Exit if you have to go threw that one) and fly to the sky. There's also a Double-Flinj, when you do your 1st Flinj, with a Double Flinj, you do a Flinj twice and REALLY fly to the sky
Later on in the game, it becomes more deadly and Chambers sometimes leads to death, mostly on Test Chamber16 and 19 (19's the last Test Chamber) were in 16, there's turrets, they are similar to the Half-Life2, but they changed them to look more like cute little Robots then big killer machines, when they see you, they have firepower guns on! The Funny thing about is the fact when they see you, and you retire from them, they give up searching and say "goodnight" and hide the gun Turrets on them. And Test Chamber 19, at the end of the level, there's a fire ditch. I'm not going to tell you how you get out of it though. (MUHHUHUHUHHUHUHHAHA)
In some of the Test chambers you get a 'Companion Cube' witch help's you in
the game, it is complex to get the Companion cube on the little button, but
it is Possible. On Test chamber17, you are given a Companion Cube to help
you throughout the Testchamber, you also us it as a Shield and step's were
at the end of the level they force you to eliminate the Cube.
It also has love hearts on it.
Now you might have a better idea about Portal and all basic moves throughout the game, "now your brain is full of Portals!"
This is Good Bye from Smiles at GameOn.co.uk.
This is my 2nd game review. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it.
